Herbert Schildt is the best programming book author. I've all his complete reference books also rather than saying that i've read it i would say i've actually enjoyed it.. If you go through his book thoroughly you can crack any technical interview or technical aptitude tests. His books are like enchiridion, suppose you find any problem or doubt regard to a programming language you go thought his book or at least that topic i'm damn sure that you find the solution.
